About Us

The Women Effect Organization (WEO) is a non-governmental and non-partisan organization based in Tanzania, committed to empowering women, youth, and vulnerable groups within our communities. Our focus areas include youth development, women’s and childcare advancement, community and gender development, and the inclusion of people with disabilities.

We believe that every person — regardless of gender, background, or ability — deserves the opportunity to thrive, contribute, and participate fully in social and economic development. By providing technical empowerment and practical skills, we aim to help disadvantaged groups become active participants in production and community growth.

Vision

We envision a society where women have equal access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and leadership roles — driving sustainable development and lasting change.

Mission

Our mission is to empower women and promote gender equality by advancing women’s rights, fostering economic and social growth, and creating an inclusive world where women can thrive, lead, and make meaningful contributions to society.

Our Programs and Activities

  • 1. Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR):
We run awareness campaigns on HIV prevention and reproductive health. Notably, we partnered with the World Bank, SHOTECH Engineering Company, and AMJ Global Multi Contractors Company Limited JV to conduct HIV awareness campaigns in Sokomatola and Stand Mpya ya Mabasi.
  • 2. Education Support for Vulnerable Children:
Each year, we provide school supplies to children living in challenging conditions to support their right to education and hope for a brighter future.
  • 3. Menstrual Health and Skills Empowerment:
We distribute sanitary pads to 100 girls from vulnerable backgrounds. Through our research, we discovered that many girls preferred learning how to make reusable pads — a skill that empowers them for long-term hygiene management and sustainability.

Our Commitment

We are dedicated to building a Tanzania and a world where women and all disadvantaged groups are given the tools, skills, and opportunities to lead dignified, independent, and impactful lives.
